Earl Grey Charter: Part 1

Penned upon the 31st of January, 2006

-The Earl Grey is a society dedicated to developing trends toward self-respect, culture, artisanship and edification within society.

-We do so by leading through example, publishing instructive texts and staging public events intended to entertain and enlighten.

-We recognise, and act in the spirit of, great minds who have come before. If an individual, past or present, is regarded as exemplifying the virtues of The Earl Grey, members may vote to bestow Honourary Membership upon them.

-We maintain a newsletter, entitled “THE GLADSTONE”, which will keep readers informed of fine writings, recordings and events to enjoy while providing insightful editorial and opinions.

The Charter shall be expanded and refined after a meeting at the HOPETOUN TEA ROOMS, MELBOURNE.
