My dear fellow Marlene and I have had a special understanding ever since we helped that charming Marx fellow, the poor blighter was a damn sight close to being wholly consumed by an alligator on a yacht trip down the mouth of the Nile.
He was certainly thankful, kept mentioning something about Harps- strange thing for a communist to mention I thought.

Anywho, I thought it worth mentioning that he and I once composed a music hall ballad in her honour titled 'Come on Marlene'. It went swimmingly upon original performance but my notes were tainted during a storm you see, and subsequently the lyrics have become quite muddled- but I am adamant that the spirit remains the same.
I congratulate you on this newfound enterprise, and eagerly await the appointment of general purpose. Then perhaps soon the 'Reading Oscar, Not Oscar in Reading' protest documents shall make their way to the colonies where they are sorely required.

"Come on Marlene" has always been my favourite post-Baroque composition. And I thank you for your congratulation, sir, and hopefully we shall soon have Oscar free from Her Majesty's clutches! I hear they're making him WORK! He's a poet! He'll never survive!
