The Chook Diagram Mk 1

Penned upon the 27th of April, 2006

There have been numerous attempts to map the breadth and depth of political thought: the French Revolutionary Left-Right model, the Political Compass, the Nolan chart, the Pournelle chart, all have contributed something to the development and understanding of political SCIENCE.

Here is my own offering, which I hope, in time, will adequately complement but not contradict other models and aid in understanding the relational qualities of different parties and schools of political thought.

Note that this model is deliberately Western-centric, and does not attempt to map religion, nor does it yet attempt to explore the territory toward the centre of the diagram. Non-democratic politics are also absent - perhaps they might appear on a later model.
