Having “The Talk”

Penned upon the 24th of November, 2007

“Father, you brush your teeth with tooth-paste, so why don’t you brush your hair with hair-paste?”
“Why, I do, child. Uncle Chester’s Flavourited Hair Paste, with miracle ingredient Vintner’s Wax. It’s the only hair-paste for the fearsome man.”
“Oh, I do see, Father, I do see.”

Commentary upon “Having “The Talk””

  1. Baroness Emilia of Fort Territory was heard to remark,

Upon the 24th of November, 2007 at 9:41 am,

I do agree that roundabout 8 years old a young member of the artistocracy is quite due to learn the scented-oil daubery of the priviledged classes and subsequently, colonialist plunder!

  2. Sir Frederick Chook was heard to remark,

Upon the 25th of November, 2007 at 12:51 am,

It’s never to early to teach them the virtue of Empire and the evil of Greengrocers!

  3. Meaghan was heard to remark,

Upon the 25th of November, 2007 at 12:59 pm,

And here I was expecting something more along the lines of the ‘birds and the bees’ talk; i.e “Papa, where do babies come from?” and “Well, son, when Papa is away on business or at his club, Mama and the footman….”

  4. Sir Frederick Chook was heard to remark,

Upon the 25th of November, 2007 at 9:46 pm,

Oh, he leaves that to the nursemaids to demonstrate.

PS: we got your card – thank you, it was lovely!

  5. Sir Frederick Chook was heard to remark,

Upon the 27th of November, 2007 at 3:57 pm,

I also just noticed that the father has colossal thighs, and is possibly a satyr.
