Red Door Burlesque!

Penned upon the 28th of March, 2007

MELBOURNE suffers no dearth of quality cabarets, but Red Door Burlesque has really captured my eye. Hosted by both the Hi Ball girls and one of our favourite performers, the quite excessively talented Marawa, Red Door are offering table seating, cocktails and a show featuring dancing, comedy, Marawa’s maginificent flying trapeze and a stream of guests, every Sunday at The Order of Melbourne. All beginning on the 15th of April (little more than a week after Gogol Bordello and Flogging Molly play at the Metro!) The promise of a comfortable chair, a show and the chance to wear formalwear is too great a temptation not to indulge with gusto – if anyone should like to book a table with Lady Tanah and I, please, let know.

Red Door Burlesque
Opening night: 15th April and only $5 entry.

Where: The Order of Melbourne: Swanston St
When: 15th April, 22nd April, 29th April and 6th May
Time: Doors open from 6.00pm
Cost: $10

    Kind Sir,

I should like to join you, and your inamorata, for a night of quality entertainment but alas, as Fate would impose on me, I am unable.

However, please kindly keep me in mind.

Warmest best wishes to you, and yours.

    L

Fate is a fickle master, and his unusual proclivities have been the talk of the civil courts. But as it is, we may attend the opening night, or we may attend the show following, depending on people’s availability! And thank you very much for the interest and the kind words.

I just booked a table for my boyfriend & I :> Have you booked? The guy on the phone said it was selling out pretty quickly…

We’re busy on the opening night, so we’re getting a party together for the second show. If you’re going to the first, you can let us know how it is; if you’re going to the second, yay, we’ll meet you!

  5. Gala was heard to remark,

Upon the 4th of April, 2007 at 7:52 pm,

I’ve booked for the 15th. But who knows, it might be so wonderful that I go again the next week :D

:D Marawa is pretty darn amazing. I’ve only seen the Hi Balls once, and that was among enough other acts to forget what they were like. Nothing personal, Hi Balls!
