As Above, So Below

Penned upon the 29th of June, 2010

They said he was so evil, he killed his mother in conception, and that he practiced live sacrifice and blood rituals – but it was all puff and abstraction, and those esoteric texts were never meant to be taken literally. They said she had taken a vow of eternal silence, but it was only a vow of poverty – she just preferred to read rather than talk.

It wasn’t an obvious match – he followed a hermetic, monistic, aesthetic creed while hers was a hermitic, monastic, ascetic philosophy. Still, they found happiness together – he watered the geraniums and she dried them, and together they dusted the bookshelves and counted the stars.
